Done!

I just finished this page, and here it is. I still have to even out the edges, clip a few threads, etc., but I decided to post here and just take the night off. I'll start the next one over the weekend.

It is always so interesting how these thing turn out.

Thank you all for your kind comments and encouragement. I was very surprised at the way this page came out, and I'm glad you like it.

Well! The orange beads rally changed the feeling of the piece... made it seem a lot more happy and at the same time more complex. I'm totally smitten with this one. What thoughts do you have about its meaning now that it's finished? I really enjoyed reading what some of the others said about it before it was finished, expecially Julie's comment about the harmony between the flow and the zig-zag. It's all still there, but much more integrated and beautiful now. Hoooray! Robin

Ahh....! Back from the Bead Expo, and I am so loving all of your comments! Sometimes I feel discouraged and I come and look at what y'all have said and that perks me right up! It's too bad that the "orange beads" photographed so flat -- they are really very shiny silver-lined iris beads and in person they look like sparkling, colorful gold.

As to the meaning of the piece... Well, that's always a difficult question to answer, but in this case I was working out my feelings about the progress of events and the process of my emotions. Events seem to move along inevitably. One way or another, life happens, progress is made (or not!), change follows change. That can usually be a good thing, but getting through all the changes in my life last year certainly created a lot of emotional feedback (to put it mildly). Sometimes I think my emotions are represented by the zigzags and sometimes I think those are all the events coming one on top of the other. Either way, life moves me through everything that happens, and I just deal with things as they come.
