My New House

Here's a picture of my new little house. It's about 1/3rd the size of the previous place, and we are going to have quite a time squeezing into it. There are only 864 sq. ft. of living space. However, the basement is the same size, so there is a lot of storage room. Eventually we hope to replace the falling-down garage with a back yard studio, but who knows when that will be?

I'm going crazy with packing and stuff -- we have less than a week to be out of here, and take possession of the new place at the end of the week. We will be moving our belongings into the basement storage space while we get the floors done upstairs. Should be an exciting weekend.

Bless your hearts! I know about down-sizing - in 5 years time we went from a 2200 sf farmhouse to a 600 sf guesthouse then to a 300 sf studio apartment. No idea how we managed, but we did. A great deal of hard work, stress, anxiety, the whole lot - but with love, humor and friends it can be managed. With most of one's sanity intact, too. I hope for you a move as trouble-free as can be. And your new house looks lovely!
Cheers!

It was so good to see you post once again, Lois. Have been wondering how you were doing. This new house looks so charming -- it will take a bit of effort with downsizing, but I am betting you will be happy there.

Love your house. It looks a lot like one I had in Wyoming except yours looks to be in MUCH better shape. Hope you get settled enough to enjoy the holiday period.
