July Page Finished

So, here it is at last. Now on to August and September. This month will be an exercise in spontaneity, and that will be good for me.

I started out with the three light buttons, then decided to just outline around them with various beads and textures and see what design would develop and grow. Where the June page is relatively simple and symbolic, July came out very complex looking and design-oriented, and not symbolic of anything at all. To me, it has come to have something of a liquid feeling, but that may just be because it's almost 3am and I'm sleepy! I also chose to emphasize colors that I don't necessarily use all the time, and that was interesting, too.

At this point, I have no ideas about the August or September pages. They'll just grow.

Now that you have completed the central strip, I get that liquid feeling too. The original corners look like exotic water flowers and the buttons in the green swirls look like big droplets of rain plopping into a green pool.

Beautifully beaded and a delightful page.

Hi, Lois -- When I first opened up your blog this afternoon, the sight of your finished page touched my heart so much. I actually had to get up from the computer and take a walk outside the house.

Your work is so exquisite and meaningful.

Lois
I am so glad you got time to bead.
I feel it centers us, and with all the hecticness you have been going through, you needed it.
Your attitude toward life has been mirrored in your beautiful page.

Lois this page turned out simply gorgeous & the wonderful placement of the beads surrounding the buttons, bring to mind the E-Greetings cards made by Jacquie Lawson

If you haven't seen them go here http://www.jacquielawson.com/default.asp

Lois, I don't know how I missed your blog for so long, but am glad to find it now! This piece is so wonderful and vibrant with both color and movement.

You said you're stuck now... that you've been to the library, etc. searching for ideas? Could it be that you're trying too hard to do exceptional work or to come up with something meaningful? I've found that trying too hard is a terrible block for me. But as soon as I let go of that idea, and say "Ok, I'll just make something average this month," it starts being fun again.
