July - Part 2

I've made a little more progress, though not as much as I'd hoped. Life and The Simpsons Movie sort of jumped in my way. The sequins just won't photograph properly-- they are a bright red-violet with little hologram highlights. The rest of the colors are pretty close to reality, though. I wonder where it will take me next?

I really like what you have done so far. I think it's too much reflection from the sequins. Shiny ones never seem to photograph right. This will be stunning when it's finished.

Oh! I just figured out what I like so much about this... The typical way would be to put the same type of beads all of the way around the discs. I totally love the way it's half one type of beads and half another... and not only different beads, but also different techniques. Congratulations on stepping out of the box!

Thank you! Your comments really keep me going, and inspire me when I'm feeling... less progress on my part.

Aurora, I LOVED The Simpson Movie! It was laugh-out-loud funny through the whole thing.

Robin, I'm flattered! But I have to say that it never even occurred to me to put the same beads completely around the discs-- because I am terrible at making that sort of thing fit and look right! I didn't so much step out of the box as stumble and fall out of it. ;-P

Wow! I love it. I like how you combined the beads and sequins. I think your not completely circling the cabs with one type of bead keeps them from looking caged or closed in. I really need to lock that away in my head for future use.

This is so great. I love the different beads around the larger ones, just like Robin said. Very creative. I find that when I try to photograph reds (any shade, tint or hue) it comes out wrong. I'm not sure what it is about red but it always comes out a bit purple. So don't worry about that, the creativity flows out from the whole piece.

It looks great so far, the colors and everything. After seeing what you and some of the others have done with sequins I may just have to try them on my August page. Keep up the good work. Angie

This...THIS is so brilliant in color! I can almost smell the flowers, what a fun journey you are on. Wish I could walk through your beaded page... but then I'd stop and overdue my stay. lol
