August BJP Finished
August was one of those "interesting" months in which I found myself wishing things were different, or had happened otherwise. I wanted to jump over to an alternate world where life was the way I preferred it to be. So... I built myself a time machine and set out upon the waters of time and space. It's literally a time machine, being made from a pocket watch plate, and I incorporated beads of graduated sizes and added a few rhinestones and a couple of sequins. The interesting thing about the watch plate is that all the intricate details on it's surface are never seen by anyone except the person who made the watch and the person who would have to open the watch to make repairs.

Well, that is a most interesting observation about watches... one I'd never considered before reading your post. Excellent that you've exposed the intricasies, precision and beauty of the inside of this one... a time machine to watch and wonder at. Love the way you did the beads too....

Oh my! I love the look of this piece, and the thought that went into it. The beading is lovely, colors are exactly what I would have chosen, and so encrusted! I haven't been able to achieve that yet. Very nice!
This turned out beautiful! What a great time machine! Blue pieces have really been sucking me in this year, lovely beading. I like the thought you put in to it and the meaning for it, sparkly through time and space. Wonderful!
Hi Lois
I thought it looked kind of steam punkish when I saw it. So did you go forward to the Mad Max era or backward to see cowboys and indians? Or did you move over to Bizaro World where everything is opposite?
The piece is Way Cool.
I agree...interesting observation. Great color choices and love the way it moves through the colors. -Marlene

This is a wonderful piece—love the outer space-ish look, the watch piece, the colors . . . good job!
Wow! I hadn't checked in with my blog in awhile, and you overwhelm me with your kind comments! Thank you so much!
don't know how I missed this, it's great!
Thanks, beadbabe!
A time machine? I've always wanted one. I love this piece and its tale. Nice work.
LOVE this.
Wow! I am thinking about trying to join for 2011, so have been looking though the site and some blogs. Your piece caught my eye and I must say it captured my August perfectly. Like you were inside my mind. I am now pretty sure I will attempt this. Thank you for such a awesome inspiration. Dale
